OWENTON, KY (December 21, 2021) -  As Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) focuses on restoring lives, it aims to help revitalize communities. This week, ARC's newest women's residential drug and alcohol treatment center in Owenton, Kentucky will increase its residential services significantly from 16 beds to nearly 100. The closest residential facility for women is approximately 30 minutes away.

Located at the former Synergy Healthcare building off Roland Avenue, Eagle Creek Recovery Center provides detoxification, stabilization, residential treatment services, outpatient services, and career opportunities for women with substance use disorders. ARC and developers have worked to restore the facility since 2019, and the company is excited to expand its nationally recognized "Crisis to Career" model in this community.

"Helping those in recovery find hope is key. Hope motivates people to engage and complete their treatment," said ARC CEO Tim Robinson, a former prosecutor who founded the treatment organization after dealing with his own addiction. "This also gives them a foundation for hope and a future."

The center offers clients more than 20 hours of clinical programming weekly, with counseling provided by licensed counselors and peer support groups led by state-certified peer support specialists. State-certified case managers will also work with each client to improve their recovery environment by addressing family, educational, housing and vocational needs. In addition, medical care is provided, with each client seeing a medical provider as necessary for their general medical needs.

“Since we opened in August, we’ve been blown away by the community response. Churches and volunteers have stopped by repeatedly to show support for the women at Eagle Creek. They’ve made donations, given them Christmas decorations, volunteered to do Bible studies, prepared Thanksgiving dinners and even baptized several of our clients. They’ve offered us everything from Bibles for clients, to donuts for staff,” said Johnathan Gay, ARC director of external affairs and deputy legal counsel. “We are grateful for the Owenton community’s ongoing kindness and support.”

The expansion will also create more local jobs, with the facility expected to employ nearly 50 full-time staff.

“Eagle Creek will continue to play a vital role in a region that is in need of addiction services for women,” said Pat Fogarty, ARC senior vice president of operations. “The calamity of addiction has never been more apparent in our society as it is today, and our goal is to intervene in this vicious cycle while producing opportunities for individuals in recovery.”
